One of the worst things about writing long essays or research papers: having to ensure you have the correct citations for the bibliography. Typically, research papers especially, tend to be long, time consuming, and at best, frustrating. But one of the trickiest parts about research papers: cultivating the bibliography. So that is where RefME comes to your rescue--a free app that manages references on a computer or mobile device.

The app allows you to scan a books barcode and save it as a reference. And once your finished writing the paper and your references are all ready on the app, you can export to other file formats--like MS Word, in popular citation styles.

2. Scalar

Scalar, an academic publishing platform, has been described "as easy as blogging." Its multimedia compatibility allows you to import text, citations, and other forms of multimedia from the web seamlessly to help create a college project!

3. JumpCut
