The RedShelf Review is hoping that every reader out there is having a great start to the new year! And with the New Year, comes the ever-popular “resolutions” that everyone seems to be making, but are they sticking to them? We sure hope so! According to www.usa.gov , we have shared their list of popular New Year’s Resolutions for 2015!

1.       Lose Weight and Get Fit

This is one of the most common New Year’s resolutions. Do you blame them?! After what seems like an entire season of over indulging in sweets and snacks at the countless holiday parties, it’s only natural to want to lose weight and get fit. While fitness and health clubs are offering discounted rates in January, research says that “60% of gym memberships go unused and attendance is usually back to normal by mid-February.”

2.       Volunteer to help others

While it may be a new year, there are still old problems in the world, or maybe even within your own city or community. To start this year out on the right foot, you may be thinking to lend a helping hand.

3.       Quit Smoking

Feeling out of place or not satisfied in your day-to-day routine? Some may be needing a change, and that change might be in their career.

5.       Eat Healthier

During the holidays, it is safe to say that the majority of stuff we consume is pretty much…not healthy! Between cheese balls, greasy appetizers, loads of carbs for dinner, and tables full of desserts; the end of 2014 was a gluttonous one. This leaves us all vowing that 2015 will be different, full of colorful vegetables and variations of greens!

6.       Manage Stress

With the added craziness presented by the holidays, it is easy to become overwhelmed by work and family obligations. Who else was stressed about whether or not they bought the right color handbag that special someone wanted? Or maybe had to worry about finding the perfect gift for the most difficult person? With a new start, it does the body good to vow to worry less and find zen instead.

7.       Manage Debt and Save money

The budget-unfriendly month of December leaves some of us looking at our bank accounts saying, “where did it all go?!” With a trying financial year, some of us might be calling for a halt to our spending habits and therefore vow to manage their debt and savings better. If this was one of your resolutions, set yourself some parameters and “rules” rather than pronouncing often unattainable goals. What’s one area to cut costs? Pack a lunch and bring to work!

8.       Take a Trip

Who else is thinking “a new year and a new world of opportunities to explore?” Traveling of some sort is on almost everyone’s agenda. Come on, just think of all the exotic places!

9.       Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!

10.   Drink Less Alcohol

A synonym for the term “holidays” should be “over-consumption.” While we over consumed delicious homemade meals, we may have dabbled in the over-consumption of alcohol as well. It is no wonder why we may vow to drink less after January 1st.

Whatever your New Year's Resolution is this 2015, stick to it! It might be difficult, but remember to take it day by day, and set yourself little goals to achieve the overall goal! Everyone at RedShelf is rooting for you!
