5 Apps to Improve Your Productivity

Need some extra tips on how to stay productive up until the very last day of class? As a last ditch effort, here are some of the best apps and browser extensions to improve your productivity before the official kick-off to summer break!

1. The Momentum App

The Momentum app is a life saver in the disguise of a browser extension. Have you heard the common advice of focusing on one single task instead of spending small amounts of time on many different tasks? This app greets you by asking you what your main focus of today is. It then proceeds to prompt you with that message every time you open a new tab.

2. The Harvest App

Need to measure your timer per task a bit more heavily? The Harvest app does just that for you! In order to be successful and make the most use of your time, you need to be brutally honest with HOW you spend your time. Working on something? Label what you're doing and keep track of how much time you are spending on it. When you have finished your daily tasks, you can check out how long you've spent on each activity and make any necessary adjustments.

3. The Forest App

This browser extension uses gamification to make productivity a bit more fun. The app allows you to start a timer, during which a seed will grow into a tree. You can set certain time goals for specific tasks, and dedicate that time to the task at hand while the tree grows until that time limit is met.

4. Time Tracker

While the name is pretty self-explanatory, what is especially great about this one is that it will log every different website you go to when you begin getting off track. This will help you take a look at where you spend your time in clear detail. Perhaps you might be surprised about how much time you actually spend on a certain website, and hopefully adjust!

5. Plan

Looking for a way to take your to-do list to the web? While the many tasks seem to just keep piling on, Plan is a great way to not only get everything down online, but it also organizes it in one seamless interface. Not only can you organize all of your lists, but you can also use it as a schedule and for events. Oh, and we can't forget about the analytics that come along with the activities you spend your time on!
