Our Regional Account Manager, Drew Lestrud, walked into work today with an infectious smile and...a great big box of donuts! RedShelf employees love to take part in celebrating each individuals milestones both big and small, in the workplace or at home! Today marks the one year anniversary for Drew so we decided to make it an Employee Spotlight!
We took the time to ask Drew about some questions about her experience working with RedShelf thus far! Read on to see what we learned!
1. What made you apply to RedShelf and then accept the position?
What captured me immediately was the enthusiasm of the team. Everyone had such passion when they explained RedShelf and when they told me about their specific jobs. It was as if I could see in their eyes that they knew what they were doing mattered for this industry and that they were onto something great. I wanted to be a part of that.
2. What is your favorite thing about working at RedShelf?
My favorite thing about working at RedShelf is that I look forward to going to work every day. Not a lot of people can say that! We have a great group of people who enjoy what they do and work really, really hard to create the best product on the market. Being on the client side, I also love the fact that I get to build relationships with people from all over the United States every single day.
3. What has been your favorite memory with the team?
Two come to mind: The first was our company retreat last year. I had only been working at RedShelf for about two weeks when we all went out to Michigan to spend the weekend enjoying each others company on the Lake and also going over our company plans for the next year. Since I had just started working here, it was an amazing opportunity to see where we were in the industry and where we intended to go.
The second branches off on my first memory: it was six months later and we received our Series A funding from investors. By this time, the team had doubled in size and we were achieving the goals we mapped out earlier that year at the Lake in Michigan. It was a really happy moment for me.
4. What do you hope to achieve/learn/improve upon with RedShelf?
The exciting thing about being in this industry is that it has many layers: there are bookstores and publishers and point-of-sale systems, just to name a few. My goal is to always take advantage of this wonderful opportunity by being a part of the conversation as each of these things evolve. That way I can constantly learn and improve in my role as we move forward as a company and as a team
5. What is your favorite title on RedShelf?
The Great Gatsby!! It is such a terrific classic and you are able to purchase it for only $2... Can't beat that!!
